Blame it on forgetfulness. Or old eyes. Or cold hands. Whatever the reason, a recent fishing trip when I’d forgotten my magnifiers dissolved into a knot-tying challenge that stole valuable time from fishing. I also could have used another knot, one that required less dexterity. In short, I could have used Lefty Kreh’s “Fishing Knots,” (Stackpole Books, $24.95).
The real beauty of the book, of course, is that it details the more exotic bonds, the ones that solve the knotty problems we don’t deal with every day and thus forget. But with Lefty’s book, they’re all there in perfect illustration, ready to be remembered.
