LONGMONT, Colo.—Union workers at a Butterball turkey plant in Longmont are voting on a contract offer.
Results of the vote could be known as soon as Wednesday night. A ‘no’ vote would raise the possibility of a strike.
The United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7 and the company have been negotiating on a number of issues, including safety rules. The union represents about 240 workers at the Longmont processing plant.
The union says its contract expired Monday, but the sides kept talking.
