A shootout in the Montbello neighborhood led to both wounded men running to nearby homes for help just after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Denver police said.
One of the men died soon after they were both rushed to University of Colorado Hospital. The other, shot in the face, was in critical condition. Their names and ages were not released.
Police received separate 911 calls related to each man, after they showed up at different homes in the 5600 block of Victor Lane, said Detective Sharon Avendaño.
A third man was detained for questioning, she said.
