On Wednesday, Rockies general manager Dan O’Dowd kicked dirt on the idea of signing free-agent left-hander Joe Beimel. But agent Joe Sroba hinted Thursday that a deal is still possible.
So what’s the holdup? In his client’s mind, there hasn’t been a serious offer.
O’Dowd admitted he has maintained contact with Sroba, but thought Beimel, who did not allow a home run in 49 innings last season with the Dodgers, was going in a different direction.
