Home resales and prices in the Denver metro area were down in January compared with a year ago.
Sales dropped 17.3 percent to 2,469, compared with 2,987 in January 2008. They were down 23.7 percent compared with December, when 3,234 homes sold, according to data released Friday.
The median price for a single-family home dropped 16.3 percent to $181,500, compared with $216,950 a year ago. For condos, the median price dropped 15.7 percent to $113,000.
The number of homes on the market was down 19.4 percent from January 2008.
