The winner: Denice Volk-Reich, Aspen: This statue is at the north side of the Catholic rectory in Aspen. My father always took us by there in the winter and said she froze there because she wasn’t dressed warm enough for the cold weather. Some of the townspeople used to say that she blessed Aspen during the ski season. I am originally from Denver and moved to Aspen when I was 2 years old.
