BOULDER, Colo.—A Boulder County inmate accused of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old Longmont boy is accused of sexually assaulting a fellow inmate who is mentally disabled.
Sixty-three-year-old Frank James Gutierrez pleaded not guilty Friday to assaulting an at-risk adult.
Jail Cmdr. Bruce Haas says Gutierrez is accused of touching the inmate’s genitals against his will when he was in custody last June. A trial is set for June 22.
Gutierrez was arrested in 2007 after the mother of a Longmont boy he was baby-sitting reported witnessing the alleged assault in her apartment. The trial is set to begin May 11.
Gutierrez is a registered sex offender who was convicted in San Diego of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl.
