Gov’t Mule took an apparent left turn when the band released 2007’s “Mighty High,” a reggae covers disc featuring a few legitimate reggae legends. But why not? Warren Haynes (Allman Brothers Band, the Dead) has never limited himself to a single style or outlet. The Mule plays the Fillmore tonight and Vail’s Dobson Ice Arena on Saturday. $27.50-$33.
Magic Mice have ramped up their live schedule lately — good news for fans of melodic indie rock u la Built to Spill and late-period Guided by Voices. The guitar-happy Denver act plays tonight at the Hi-Dive with the Little Ones and Action Packed Thrill Ride. $10.
P.O.S. is riding high on his scorching new album, “Never Good,” which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s New Artist chart. Doomtree guests Sims, Lazerbeak, Hand Over Fist and others will back the Minneapolis MC on Saturday at the Marquis Theater. $12.
The Whitest Kids U’Know will swing by the Oriental Theater on Monday as part of promotional tour for Season 3 of their IFC sketch comedy. Let’s just hope the live set is better than the dumbed- down trailer for Zach and Trevor’s upcoming bro-flick, “Miss March.” $15.
