A man arrested in January on charges of breaking into a home while a young girl was there alone now faces charges in a 1995 rape case.
Byron Gay, 43, has been charged with first-degree sexual assault in the Oct. 24, 1995, rape of a 19-year-old woman who was home alone in the 3000 block of Columbine Street in Denver.
Gay was arrested Jan. 14 after a break-in at a home in the 2800 block of South Ingalls Street, where a young girl was home alone. He currently is facing charges of burglary and menacing in that case.
Gay remains in Denver County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail in the 1995 case and $50,000 bail in the January case.
He is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on Thursday morning.
