INDIANAPOLIS — Colorado State tight end Kory Sperry spent much of Thursday morning at the NFL draft combine getting his left knee examined by doctors from just about every NFL team.

Sperry missed all of the 2007 after tearing his ACL in the first game of that season.

“The knee looked good, tight, nothing negative that they said about it,” Sperry said. “Feels real good.”

He had not gotten hurt, Sperry would have been an entrant in the 2008 draft. Instead he spent his fifth year of eligibility playing for CSU’s first-year head coach Steve Fairchild, who was the offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills before being hired to replace Sonny Lubick.

“He brought in a pro style offense, running around a lot, the tight ends moving around a lot,” Sperry said. “He brought that NFL mentality. Just because of how he set up the offense, not only was I spread out, I played in the hole position run blocking too.”
