Warm weather is in store for the Front Range this weekend, with plenty of fresh powder and sunshine in the mountains for skiers, according to the National Weather Service.

Denver should have sunny skies Friday with highs from 45 to 51 degrees. Forecasters expect the wind to pick up Friday afternoon.

Boulder, Longmont, Fort Collins and Greeley could see wind gusts to 50 mph, according the Weather Service.

There is a slight chance of snow over foothills and Eastern Plains Friday night with an expected low of around 20 degrees.

Sunny skies follow in the weekend with highs from the mid-40s to the mid-50s across the region through Sunday, the Weather Service said.

Highs in the 50s and 60s are expected along the Front Range through Thursday of next week.

After days of good snowfall, the High Country is in line for sunny skies and daytime temperatures in the mid-30s this weekend, according to the forecast.

A midweek storm left 15.5 inches of snow at Winter Park, 14 inches on Aspen, 10 inches at Vail and Crested Butte, seven inches at Steamboat Springs, six inches on Arapahoe Basin, five inches at Eldora and Telluride, according to Colorado Ski Country USA.

The snowfall and warming conditions have raised “considerable” avalanche risks in the back country near Eldora, Estes Park, Creede, Lake City, Telluride, Crested Butte, Leadville, Empire, Vail and Steamboat Springs, according to the Colorado Avalanche Information Center in Boulder.
