Real estate promoter Frederic “Rick” Dryer was sentenced Friday to 132 years in prison after his conviction last year on 44 felony counts of theft, securities fraud, conspiracy and racketeering.
Dryer, 60, was founder of now-bankrupt Mile High Capital Group, based in Greenwood Village. Prosecutors said the business took more than $34 million from 1,250 real estate investors who thought they were financing the development of residential duplexes.
Denver District Judge Anne Mansfield also ordered Dryer to pay $3.43 million in restitution to victims of the Ponzi scheme.
