Agents with the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives arrested four people Saturday in Adams County for attempting to sell counterfeit cigarettes to a convenience store.

The clerk cooperated with the ATF agents, who secretly watched while the sale took place. In all, the smugglers delivered 1,500 cartons of Newport menthol cigarettes at $18 per carton, according to a report from KCNC Channel 4. They were not actually the Newport brand, as the label claimed.
