Owners of Arena Football League teams, including John Elway of the Colorado Crush, met last week in Chicago with acting commissioner Edward Policy to begin hammering out details of a new operating model.
In late December, the league suspended its 2009 season that would have begun this week.
“We’ve made a tremendous amount of progress on a restructuring plan,” Policy said Tuesday.
“We have not lost any of our teams and we didn’t run into any particular hang up. But we have plenty of challenges and a long way to go before we can say anything about resuming play.”
Policy said he’s anticipating another meeting within a couple of months.
