Armed robbers are hitting homes in Fort Collins looking for drugs and cash, police said.

The latest robbery, earlier this month, happened in the 1100 block of City Park Avenue, Fort Collins police said. On Feb. 3, two men forced their way into the home in search of cash. The victims in the case have been uncooperative, and the suspects remain at large, police said.

In two of the recent cases, robbers believed the victims to be on the “medical-marijuana list” and targeted them in search of pot, police said. In other recent incidents, armed robbers were looking for methamphetamine.

Several similar armed robberies have taken place since November.

  •  On Nov. 16, several men attempted to enter a home in the 2000 block of Water Blossom Lane, where the residents are medical-marijuana dispensers, police said.
  •  On Jan. 11, two armed men forced their way into a home in the 3600 block of Big Dipper Drive in search of medical marijuana. The robbers stole electronics, cash and valuables when they failed to find pot.
  •  On Jan. 12, two men in search of methamphetamine and cash killed 30-year-old Clinton Hiney and shot two other men in an apartment at 1221 University Ave. Two men have been arrested in connection with the shooting death.

Police believe there’s more than one group committing the armed robberies. Investigators also suspect there are unreported incidents in the city.

Anyone with information on the cases, or who has been victimized and not reported it, is asked to call police at 970-221-6540.
