FOUNTAIN, Colo.—Former Pueblo County Sheriff Dan Corsentino has been hired as police chief of Fountain.

The Fountain City Council chose Corsentino Tuesday night. He replaces Charles Crawford, who resigned in October.

Corsentino served four terms as Pueblo sheriff, leaving office in 2007. In 2004, four women alleged he made unwanted advances, but the district attorney determined the evidence was insufficient to bring charges.

Fountain, a city of 22,000, has 42 officers. Fountain is about 10 miles southeast of Colorado Springs.
