BRIGHTON, Colo.—One man has been taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries after being shot during a carjacking in Adams County.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office says a man called authorities about 2 a.m. Wednesday and reported that two men shot him and stole his 1999 Chevrolet Suburban.
Deputies spotted the man’s SUV and tried to stop the driver, but officials say he led deputies on a brief pursuit. The pursuit ended a short time later when one of the suspects jumped from the SUV and ran into a neighborhood. Information about the second suspect wasn’t immediately available.
Authorities used reverse 911 to notify about 1,000 residents to stay inside and watch for any suspicious activity or persons.
The suspect was not located but the SUV was recovered.
