A man was shot during a car-jacking in Adams County early this morning.
The incident happened about 2 a.m. in the 7500 block of Broadway, said Sgt. Candi Baker, an Adams County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.
The shooting victim told sheriff’s deputies that two men stole his 1999 Chevrolet Suburban.
Deputies spotted the SUV and pursued it to the area of West 70th Avenue and Avrum Drive where a suspect jumped from the Chevy and fled on foot.
Deputies set up a perimeter and used a reverse 911 notification to warn 1,000 households in the neighborhood about the search.
The man who fled on foot was not captured. Details on the whereabouts of the second suspect were not available.
The unidentified shooting victim was taken to a local hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.
