GRAND COUNTY — Searchers found two missing snowmobilers Saturday afternoon walking near the Whiskey Park area, authorities say.
Mikel Mewbourn, 38, of Aurora and Terry Collins, 48, of Lakewood set up a shelter Friday night after their snowmobiles became stuck in ice, according to a news release from Grand County Sheriff’s Office.
The last time anyone had heard from the two, who had planned a one-day ride, was 8 a.m. Friday when they called a friend from the Idle Glen parking lot, according to Sheriff Rodney Johnson.
At 11:18 p.m. Friday, an acquaintance called Grand County dispatchers to report that the two were missing, Johnson said.
