DENVER—Ryan Lasch scored 20 seconds into overtime to give St. Cloud State Huskies a 2-1 win Saturday over Denver.

Tyler Ruegsegger scored the Pioneers’ lone goal, while Marc Cheverie stopped 25 shots as Denver’s four-game winning streak ended. Ruegsegger scored the only goal of the game’s first 40 minutes on a power play at the 6:34 mark of the second period.

The Huskies (18-14-2, 13-12-1 Western Collegiate Hockey Association) evened the game with a power-play goal in the third period when Drew LeBlanc notched his eighth goal of the season at 5:11. That sent the game to overtime and set up Lasch’s game-winning goal.

Despite the loss, Denver (20-10-4, 16-8-3 WCHA) still leads the WCHA with 35 points, one ahead of North Dakota, and has secured one of the top two seeds in the conference’s final standings.
