ASPEN, Colo.—A search of Aspen public schools has turned up no evidence of a bomb after a written threat prompted officials to call off classes for a day.
A Pitkin County sheriff’s bomb technician and two bomb-sniffing dogs searched Aspen High School Friday after the threat was discovered Thursday written on a bathroom wall.
One of the dogs did locate a starter pistol in the athletic department.
Detectives and school staff members also inspected the elementary and middle school and the preschool and found nothing suspicious.
Authorities say some afternoon and evening activities would go on as scheduled, including a high school boys basketball game and a school presentation of “South Pacific.”
