COLORADO SPRINGS — Firefighters battling a 6,328-acre wildfire at Fort Carson near Colorado Springs now have it 100 percent contained.
The blaze started Tuesday and was fanned by high winds.
Authorities believe the detonation of the military explosive C-4 in training may have sparked the fire. An investigation will begin once the blaze is extinguished.
Fort Carson spokeswoman Karen Connelly has said more than 40 firefighters are mopping up hot spots and keeping a perimeter around the blaze.
No injuries have been reported, and no structures have been destroyed.
