LINCOLN, Neb.—Lindsay Determan scored 20 points, including a big 3-pointer at the halftime buzzer, and Lincoln Pius X defeated Holdrege 55-46 in a Class B semifinal at the girls state tournament Friday night.

Natalie Braun added 17 points for the Thunderbolts (20-2), who play Seward (24-0) in Saturday’s championship game.

Pius started its decisive 19-5 run when Determan banked in a 3-point buzzer-beater at half. The long shot pulled the Thunderbolts within 25-23, and they took control of the game in the third quarter.

They led 39-30 before the Dusters’ Mallory Murdoch hit a 3 to stop the spurt early in the fourth. Lynae Urbom’s fourth 3-pointer got Holdrege back to 50-46 with 50 seconds left, but the Dusters got no closer.

Jordan Pfeifer led Holdrege with 13 points, Urbom had 12 and Murdoch 10.
