
Stay near, go far. Today. Celebrate West African culture at the sixth annual BaoBab Festival in Boulder. Named after the baobab tree, a traditional community meeting point in West Africa, the festival features music and dance from the Ghana National Dance Ensemble and the Boulder Pan-African Ensemble. Wild world of sports. Sunday. Catch some skijoring Sunday — in skijoring, horses or dogs pull adventurous skiers through the snow — during Lake County’s big winter shindig, the Crystal Carnival in downtown Leadville. The skijoring events, sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Sled Dog Club, take place at the Mount Massive Golf Course, with one- dog teams running at 10:30 a.m. and two-dog teams taking off at 11:30 a.m. Horse skijoring — in which skiers compete over a series of snowpacked jumps throughout downtown Leadville — start at 11 a.m. Go to .
