Colorado sophomore Cory Higgins was named Sunday to the all-Big 12 Conference third team by the league’s coaches.
A 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Danville, Calif., Higgins leads the Buffaloes in most categories, including points, rebounds, steals, free throws and attempts, total rebounds, defensive rebounds and minutes played.
His 17.8 scoring average ranks fifth in the conference. During the season he set a Big 12 record by making 45 consecutive free throws. Higgins is the son of former NBA player Rod Higgins, who is general manager of the Charlotte Bobcats.
“Cory Higgins is an all-Big 12 player,” CU coach Jeff Bzdelik said last week.
