After a dozen years, McCormick’s Fish House & Bar in LoDo is not hosting the lovely lunch the restaurant used to provide to St. Patrick’s Day parade committee members and invited guests who gather for the annual changing of the sign from Wazee Street to Tooley Street at 11 today at 17th and Wazee streets.
City Auditor Dennis Gallagher will preside over the proceedings that honor former Denver District Attorney Dale Tooley. Instead, McCormick’s is offering 25 percent off lunch and free Killian’s beer.
“We decided the sign-changing had run its course,” said McCormick’s general manager Mikel Sasek, who did not blame the economy for the free-lunch-dumping decision.
