WASHINGTON—Colorado Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet is expected to introduce the mayor of Denver Thursday as the Senate Banking Committee begins a hearing on sustainable transportation solutions.
Bennet will introduce Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper, who’s scheduled to testify on the need to rebuild the country’s transportation infrastructure using more energy efficient and environmentally-sensitive methods.
Bennett, who replaced former Sen. Ken Salazar, is a member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs that has jurisdiction over transit programs.
Salazar resigned from the Senate to become interior secretary.
