Morning commuters in the south metro area could face a slushy drive Friday as snow sweeps across the region, according to the National Weather Service.
The city has a 30 percent chance of snow after midnight, but most of the flurries are expected to be south of the city from Douglas County to Pueblo.
Less than a half inch is expected in the south metro area, according to forecasters. Light snow flurries could linger in to the afternoon.
Castle Rock is likely to receive a half-inch of snow and Colorado Springs and Pueblo could receive a half inch by morning and another half inch during the day, according to the forecast.
The storm could leave up to four inches of new snow in the central mountains before skies clear on Friday afternoon.
The afternoon temperatures in Denver could reach the mid 40s Friday, before warming up to the mid-50s on Saturday, near 60 on Sunday, the mid 60s on Monday and possibly 70 degrees on Tuesday, the Weather Service said.
Ski resorts in the mountains have a 30 to 50 percent chance of snow this weekend, with forecast highs in the upper 30s each day.
