Denver Public Schools are standing by security guards who used pepper spray on a belligerent father during a youth football game.
The incident happened Saturday when Jackie Pollard confronted an unidentified coach at George Washington High School. The father told KCNC-TV that he was arguing with the coach but was leaving when a guard approached him. Pollard said he was tackled by that guard and another when he refused to stop.
A Denver Public Schools spokesman said the security guards acted properly and that one was briefly hospitalized for a knee injury after the incident.
Pollard faces a disturbing-the- peace charge and said he would apologize to the coach.
