GOLDEN — William Jackson Palmer High School of Colorado Springs defeated Aurora Central High School on Saturday evening to win first place in the mock-trial competition sponsored by the Colorado Bar Association.

More than 80 teams competed in the State High School Mock Trial Competition, held at Jefferson County Combined Courts. Colorado Supreme Court Justice Alex Martinez presided over the final round.

The Palmer team will travel to Atlanta on May 6-10 for the annual National High School Mock Trial Tournament.
