Andrew Penner’s 35 saves helped the Colorado Eagles of the Central Hockey League defeat the Oklahoma City Blazers 3-0 on Sunday at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland. It’s the first time in franchise history the Eagles have back-to-back shutouts at home.

Jessika Anastos hit her nation-leading 16th home run of the season to help lift Colorado-Colorado Springs over visiting Adams State 6-4 and salvage a split of Sunday’s Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference softball doubleheader.
Adams State hit five home runs on the way to winning the opener 12-6. Anastos also hit a homer in the opener and finished the day 3-for-7 with four RBIs.
Metro State takes two.
The 20th-ranked Metro State softball team swept a doubleheader against Western New Mexico at Auraria Field in Denver.
The Roadrunners won the first game 3-2 in nine innings and the second game 14-1 in five innings. Junior pitcher Christie Robinson went the distance for the Roadrunners in the opener, striking out seven and earning her 12th win. Metro State (20-4, 13-1 RMAC) has won eight consecutive games and 13 of its past 14.
