The Broncos re-signed veteran tight end Jeb Putzier, who was an unrestricted free agent, the team said Monday.

Putzier, who will play in his ninth NFL season, was a sixth-round draft choice for Denver in 2002 after playing at Boise State.

In his standout season as a pro, Putzier recorded 36 receptions for 572 yards in 2004. In 2005, his 37 catches and 481 yards helped the Broncos win the AFC West.

He played in Denver’s final two games last season after the Broncos signed him late last year. He was waived by Seattle on Nov. 26.

In 69 career games, Putzier has started in 17. He has 96 receptions for 1,251 yards and three touchdowns.
