Ingredients
2 cups whole or 2 percent milk
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
ADD-INS TO TASTE
Chopped nuts: walnuts, pecans, almonds or hazlenuts
Plain or golden raisins
Dried fruits: chopped apricots, cranberries, cherries or bananas
Granola
Brown sugar
Flaked coconut
Berries
Butter
Salt
Directions
In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, bring the milk to a very low boil. Stir in the oats and the maple syrup and bring it back to a low simmer. Drop the heat to medium, and continue to cook for 5-10 more minutes, stirring a few times.
Remove from heat and stir in your add-ins. Dish it up and serve with a big pat of butter and a sprinkle of salt.
