Foodie alert!
Here’s something that doesn’t happen every day: hundreds of influential foodies crawling through downtown Denver.
The prestigious International Association of Culinary Professionals is holding its annual conference in Denver March 31-April 4. This year’s theme: “Pioneering a Sustainable World.”
The best part: A whole slew of events are open to the public. Lunch with famed cookbook author and French food goddess Anne Willan? Tips on pitching magazine story and cookbook ideas straight from the high-powered editors who buy them? A salumi lesson with Armandino Batali, who taught his son Mario everything he knows?
Check out the a la carte menu of classes and events at . Click on “Pioneering a Sustainable World,” then click “Public Events.” Or call 800-928-4227.
Foodie alert No. 2
This also doesn’t happen every day: Chef-of-the-moment Nate Appleman of the white-hot A16 and SPQR restaurants in San Francisco (and author of the killer A16 cookbook) is cooking two back-to-back dinners at Frasca Food & Wine in Boulder on Monday and Tuesday. Frasca’s wine director, Bobby Stuckey, will pair wines. Book now, because these tables are flying. $140. Call 303-442-6966.
