Colorado Mammoth all-star defenseman Bruce Murray is sidelined three to five weeks because of a dislocated kneecap sustained on the scramble for the opening faceoff in Saturday’s 14-11 win at San Jose.
The Mammoth was forced to play one man short on defense, but recent signee Ray Guze played well, limiting Stealth all-star Colin Doyle to three goals and three assists.
The National Lacrosse League trading deadline expired today with the Mammoth staying pat, in part because former all-star Dan Carey is expected to return Saturday at Calgary and Sunday at the Pepsi Center in a 6 p.m. game against Minnesota.
Carey has missed the past five games with what appeared to be post-concussion symptoms but has recently been rediagnosed as an optical nerve injury that is treatable.
