The Museum of Contemporary Art Denver is laying off five people, including its deputy director, as the museum slashes its 2009 budget by about 17 percent.
The museum will be left with 15 full-time and nine part-time employees.
The museum says it’s trying to ensure its financial stability in the current economic climate. The current budget of $2.1 million is down from $2.5 million in 2008.
