Some of America’s best athletes will make Colorado the center of the wheelchair basketball world this week as the National Wheelchair Basketball Association’s national championships play out in Denver and Lakewood.

Members of the gold medal-winning U.S. women’s team and players from the semifinal-qualifying U.S. men’s team from Beijing will compete in the women’s and championship divisions, respectively.

In the men’s championship division, the Orlando Magic Wheels will take on the defending champion Dallas Wheelchair Mavericks, and the top-seeded Arkansas Rollin’ Razorbacks go against the Utah Wheelin’ Jazz in semifinal games Friday at Metro State’s Auraria Events Center.

In the women’s division, 10 teams started in a double-elimination bracket Wednesday at the Gold Crown Fieldhouse in Lakewood.
