BOULDER, Colo. — Still one month away from being sentenced for his role in the 2006 death of his infant son, Alex Midyette was arrested Friday morning on an alleged bond violation, according to officials at the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office.

Midyette, 29, was arrested at the Boulder County Justice Center and immediately taken to the Boulder County Jail. A new bond amount has been set at $10 million. He previously posted bond in the amount of $1.5 million and was awaiting sentencing.

It was not immediately known what condition of his bond Midyette is accused of violating.

His bond conditions included that he forfeit his passport, not apply for a new passport, continue to be monitored for sobriety and that he not have contact with any children under 18, except for nieces and nephews over 2 — with adult supervision.

Sheriff’s Cmdr. Phil West said Midyette appeared at the Justice Center at 9 a.m. for an appointment. He was met by a sheriff’s deputy, who placed him in handcuffs.

West said that Midyette was taken to the jail “without incident” and that Midyette was cooperative.
