DANA POINT, Calif. — How about some Eli Manning with those Thanksgiving drumsticks?
For the first time since a fullback named Billy Joe was their leading rusher, the Broncos will host a Thanksgiving game. The NFL announced Monday the Broncos will play Manning and the New York Giants at Invesco Field at Mile High on Thanksgiving, which falls on Nov. 26. Kickoff is at 6:20 p.m. and will be televised on the NFL Network.
“I think it’s exciting for the fans to have a Thanksgiving Day game for the first time in 46 years,” said Joe Ellis, the Broncos’ chief executive officer.
The Broncos last played at home on Thanksgiving in 1963, when in the midst of a 14-game winless skid, they lost to Oakland 26-10 in an American Football League game.
