The eco-conscious crew at Clif Bar has entered the iPhone app market with a new application that holds ski resorts accountable for their actions by combining snow conditions with the environmental steps the ski resorts are taking to combat global warming. The Clif Bar SOS (for Save Our Snow) app shows current and future powder, temperature and wind conditions and forecasts provided by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and for more than 500 North American ski areas. Other icons allow users to see what ski resorts are doing in the areas of renewable energy, transportation, waste reduction and education, courtesy of the National Ski Areas Association.
