Hang on to your hat! The Denver Art Museum Design Council is bringing back its ultra-glam luncheon fundraiser.
The former Tiffany Luncheon went by the wayside a couple of years ago, but it’s coming back bigger and stronger on May 13. And like its former incarnation, Luncheon by Design is tailor-made for ladies who love their chapeaux.
The event’s theme — “Elegant Jewels of the 20th Century and the Women Who Wore Them” — and its speaker (Robin Wright of Sotheby’s) were introduced by Design Council president Jeffrey Hirschfeld during a recent gathering of committee members in a model brownstone at the NorthCreek development.
Hirschfeld noted that he and Wright have been friends for some 16 years. He mentioned the luncheon while having dinner with her recently in New York, and she quickly volunteered to speak at it. The fact that she was vacationing in Colorado the night of the kickoff party was a happy coincidence.
Western Development Group opened its 2,600-square-foot model home to a group that included Design Council board members Lin Lee, Jo Frank and Dar Thomas, plus such loyal supporters as Christine Benero, Linda Goto, Diane Groff, Judy Fahrenkrog, Arlene Hirschfeld, Larry King, Barbara Knight, Kalleen Malone, Susan and Howard Noble, Jan Peck, Marcia Robinson, Ken and Judy Robins and David Steele.
