BOULDER — University of Colorado President Bruce Benson plans to appoint a permanent chancellor for the Boulder campus by the end of April, and he’s asked the search panel to bring forward three to five candidates.

Provost Phil DiStefano will serve as the interim leader of the campus and has expressed interest in the job on a permanent basis.

The newly appointed search panel, which will draw candidates from inside the university, will take nominations for the chancellor position up until April 1. The panel will interview up to 10 candidates, and then forward its recommendations to the president.

The permanent chancellor is expected to take office by May 15.
