SANTA FE, N.M.—A 59-year-old Bernalillo man has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for his role in what authorities say was a scheme to distribute marijuana.

U.S. District Judge Judith Herrera sentenced Dana Jarvis on Wednesday. He pleaded guilty last November to one count each of conspiracy to distribute 1,000 kilograms or more of marijuana and money laundering.

Officials allege Jarvis took in more than $49.2 million from the operation.

The government is seeking forfeiture of assets that include homes, automobiles, airplanes and a liquor license.

Authorities say Jarvis obtained large quantities of marijuana from sources in Tucson, Ariz., and shipped it from New Mexico throughout the nation, including Colorado, Ohio and Indiana.
