Two campers who weren’t lost were found Thursday afternoon, after a friend reported them missing when they didn’t show up at for a meeting near Gross Reservoir, according to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
The men were located about 2:45 p.m. — about two hours after crews first started looking for them, said Sheriff’s Office spokesman Cmdr. Rick Brough.
A friend who had dropped off the campers late Wednesday said that when she returned to pick them up this morning, she couldn’t find them and called authorities at about 12:15 p.m., Brough said.
The campers were uninjured and told officers that they were “enjoying the snowy conditions and were going to stay at their campsite,” Brough said.
The men, whose names were not released, are 22 and 30 years old.
They had camping equipment, including a tent, sleeping bags and food, Brough said.
