IMA FINANCIAL GROUP INC.: Announced that Leanna Clark has joined as senior vice president of corporate communications and executive director of the IMA Foundation. Clark previously served as a principal and co- owner of Schenkein.

UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO DENVER: Announced that Blair Gifford, an associate professor of international health management in the business school and the associate director of the Center for Global Health within the Colorado School of Public Health, has been selected as a Fulbright New Century Scholar for 2009-10. Gifford’s work in global health issues, including his recent involvement in the development of a sustainable community-building institution in central Haiti, led to his selection.

WESTERN ORTHOPAEDICS: Announced the addition of orthopedic surgeon and Denver Nuggets team physician Dr. Steven Traina to its staff.

REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION DISTRICT: Welcomed seven new members to the FasTracks Citizens Advisory Committee. They are Alex Sammoury, executive director of the Longmont Entrepreneurial Network; David Lewis, president of S.A. Miro Inc.; Debra Wilcox, a member of the management team of Bye Energy Inc.; Alice Borodkin, a former member of the Colorado House of Representatives; Don Moore, a senior planner for the Douglas County Planning Division; Ken Burns, a financial adviser for Citi Smith Barney; and Niloufar Vakil, a project designer and urban planner for Tryba Architects.

CITY OF DENVER: Added Kathryn Spritzer to the Department of Finance as an asset manager in the strategic real-estate group.

HYDER CONSTRUCTION: Promoted Matt Huelskamp to business-development manager.

AMERICAN HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY: Honored Panayoti Kelaidis, senior curator and director of outreach at Denver Botanic Gardens, with the Liberty Hyde Bailey Award for significant lifetime contributions to horticulture.
