Colorado Springs police named the man and woman killed Sunday afternoon when their motorcycle crashed into the back of a van on North Circle Drive.
The motorcyclist, Joshua Saucedo, 23, and his passenger, Lei Mamo Alipio, 19, both of Colorado Springs, died of massive head injuries, police said today.
Both were wearing helmets that were unstrapped. Police believe Saucedo might have been drinking before the crash. He had lost his driver’s license because of previous alcohol-related traffic offenses, according to Colorado Springs police.
Saucedo changed lanes suddenly in the 1800 block of North Circle Drive, losing control of his Suzuki 1000cc motorcycle and rear-ending a Chevy Astro van, investigators said. The van’s driver was not hurt.
