University of Denver senior Katie Kempter shot an even-par 72, good for a tie for third place, but DU and Colorado had disappointing days Friday in the team standings at the Ping/ASU Invitational at Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz.
DU, No. 15 in the latest Golfweek collegiate rankings, is ninth at 13-over 301, and the Buffs, ranked No. 42, are 16th at 310. No. 9 Purdue leads four teams ranked in the top five (Arizona State, UCLA, USC and Oklahoma State) at 5-over 293.
Rugby tripleheader postponed.
Today’s predicted snowstorm has forced Dick’s Sporting Goods Park to postpone the rugby tripleheader scheduled for today to next Saturday.
All tickets for the event will be honored, and the game times are expected to remain the same: Denver Barbarians vs. Chicago Lions at 4 p.m., the University of Colorado rugby club vs. the Denver Barbarians Division II side at 2 p.m., and Denver East High School vs. Chaparral High School at 12:30 p.m.
