Today. The fourth season of “Trunks,” Buntport Theatre’s ongoing, always-original biweekly Saturday comic-book serial for kids, ends with performances at 1 and 3 p.m. The clever story follows three young superheroes — The Germ, The Volt and The Cute — and their parrot as they clean up the streets of Dendiggityopolis. Each episode is based on a suggestion from the previous audience. This one: “The Reluctant Dragon.” Recommended for ages 4 and up. $4-$6. 717 Lipan St., 720-946-1388 or

Today-Sunday. The 17th century meets the 21st century in “Shake- speare Unplugged,” presented by the University of Colorado Department of Theatre and Dance. A lighthearted introduction to the Bard for third- to fifth-graders, Shakespeare himself helps two young actors “unplug” his plays from their Elizabethan context and make them more modern. That means Romeo and Hamlet mix with the likes of Wall-E, Hannah Montana and more — so expect some laughs along the way. Performances are at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. today, and 2 p.m. Sunday at The Loft at University Theatre, on the south side of Norlin Quadrangle on the CU campus. Tickets are $10 for the general public and $8 for CU students.
