LAMAR — A Lamar woman who once said she drowned her two children in a bathtub after receiving a sign from a spider is asking permission to leave the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo without supervision.
A hearing on 38-year-old Rebekah Amaya’s request is scheduled for April 28 in Lamar.
Amaya was found not guilty by reason of insanity in 2005 in connection with the October 2003 deaths of 5-month-old Gabriel Amaya and 4-year-old Grace Headlee.
