The Colorado State Patrol says a 7-year-old child is dead after a two-car crash Sunday in Montrose County that appeared to be the second DUI for the driver.
Juan Jose Prieto-Gonzalez was driving a 1989 Camaro when he ran a stop sign on County Road 5400 at Colorado 348 between Olathe and Delta, the State Patrol said. The Camaro drove right in front of a 1996 GMC Suburban, which rammed the Camaro.
Trooper Darel Reed said all occupants of the two vehicles were injured. The 7-year-old was a passenger in the Camaro, said Reed.
Prieto-Gonzalez, 32, is being held for investigation of vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and driving under the influence.
In 1994, Prieto-Gonzalez was convicted of driving under the influence and driving under suspension.
